    Starting over from square one

Well where do I start?  Like many others at first I thought it would be a good idea to start a new journal for 2007.

On New years eve I weighed myself- it wasn't a surprise that my weight had crept up to 118.4 kg.  I got a gift voucher for Xmas so I went out and purchased a new exercise dvd- I knew I'd been slack.  I did however go to a big party on new years eve and with a little help and support from my friends I got rather wobbly.

Anyway since today is day 1 of 2007's  journey, I did hop on the scales again to find out my little overindulgence on new years eve has pushed the scales up even further and I'm back at my starting weight of 120.2kg.

Since I got up this morning I have already done one of my workout dvds and dragged out the food diary again.  So here goes- round 2.

What can I say but the day's been grand.  Have done a workout dvd and been for a 30 minute walk and have also spent the day obsessing over every calorie eaten.  I've learnt how the Calorie King website works.  Needless to say my calorie intake for the day is reasonable?  Am still doing the numbers but will be keeping track for a while to keep my eating on track.

Don't quite know what's going on with my body but all the smaller clothes previously purchased still fit.  So I don't know where the kilos have gone.

Can also recommend reading this week's Who Weekly- the diary entry of the 12 week challenge contestants are great.

I had a giggle this morning- the new Aussie Fit DVD I bought has a mistake in it.  In the second workout (it's the Fighting Fit DVD) the 'instructors' change sides for the exercise and the main one out the front forgot to change sides and the other two in the background were doing the exercise on the right side.  No wonder it was cheap.

Always nice to laugh when exercising!! I was at the gym in the US one day and the guy next to me was preening away in the mirror (what gym has mirrors in front of treadmills??) and lost track of his feet!!! he literally flew off the back!!!!! He got back on and turned to me, said "Of course, i MEANT to do that, you know!" and I replied, "Oh, yes, I cam see it is well rehearsed!". Oh, it was FUNNY!

Re: Starting over from square one

Just wanting to report that the 2nd day if off to a good start as well.  I nominated hour lunch breaks at the new job on purpose- cos the only way to fill in a whole hour at Southbank is to go for a walk.  I got in a good 20 min walk over the Goodwill Bridge & back- was planning on going for longer but it was raining & didn't want to finish the day soaking wet in a freezing cold office.

Re: Starting over from square one

I've been for two walks today- the first 45 min walk this morning got rained out (was intending to walk for more than the 45 mins I got in) but I went again this arvo for an hour.  I think I've found the momentum I had a couple of months ago- am quite excited about it.

This arvo when I was out walking in two separate incidents people found it necessary to lean out of their car window and yell obscenities in relation to my weight.  Tell you what I feel the need to learn some sign language.  How rude.

some guys are just jerks, women too sometimes but in my experience 99% of the time its guys.

whatever you do dont let it stop you, it doesn't sound like it will put you off Smile

also, although it may be obvious, not everyone is as ignorant aa the people that like to yell out crap at others from the saftey of their cars. whenever i see a big guy/girl walking or excersising while i'm driving, it reminds me that i should get off my but and do the same Big Smile

    Re: Weigh in #1

Congrats Nat! Well done on the 1.2kg! Great motivation too. I started back on Monday (after also putting back on nearly all the weight I lost last year) and reading your journal was really inspiring. I'm hoping for a similar loss by next Monday!

Keep up the great work! Clap

    Ali.
