    Re: August update

One of my workmates and I went and worked out together yesterday.  He's bought the three pack of personal training sessions too but hasn't started yet.  He joined up about 2 weeks before me and says he's scared to go.   Anyway yesterday he met my trainer.  My trainer's offered us a really good deal to do group sessions so I'm hoping to organise 3 or 4 of us to go once a week as a group. So my workmate's thinking he'll come along with my trainer cos he really liked him.

I'm just so excited I got up to a jog on the treadmill- I've never done anything like that before.

    Re: August update

I had this vision of everything wobbling pretty bad but was shocked when it didn't.  At the FF I go to there are a lot of bodybuilders and beautiful people.  I haven't seen anyone else my size going so I was feeling a bit awkward about it- but I'm slowly getting over it.

    Re: August update

Good on you for getting back into the swing of things.  Glad to see that even your work is taking an interest in there staff's health.  They probably know that by doing this, there will be less absenteeism - which is a fact.  My friend who is super fit and healthy did not have one day off in an entire year and same with another fella she worked with and was trying to introduce to her bosses that if no one takes a sickie for the year, that they get a bonus of some sort as an incentive.  Well that failed didn't it but she did try.

Glad that your not apprehensive about the wobbly bits, that's what I was thinking as I will be moving to FF come end of Oct when they open one closer to home.  My trainer who now works at FF said that the people in there don't care.  All they care about is themselves and flexing there pecs so not to worry about such things as wobbly bits.

    Anyway, take care

    Jen

    I've been slack!!!

Well where do I start...the gym got the flick rather quickly.  There was lots of pressure to sign up for loads of personal training and they really really wanted me to spend over $100 a week which I just couldn't afford.

I recently moved house.  I got offered a new job out of the blue and I took it (who wouldn't take a $10k pay increase and work 5 minutes from home).

I got offered an early entry place in law school for next year.

Oh and one last bombshell- baby #1 is on its way.  Any suggestions on what's a good diet?  My blood sugar's a little high but my doctor's on it. At this stage she's suggesting I stick with the weight watchers program.

Gee if moving house changing job going to uni and then getting pregnant is being slack I am glad I don’t have to keep up on a busy day.

All the best with everything sounds like you are going to be busy.

    Re: I've been slack!!!

Actually I'm not feeling sick this week.  I'm hoping the morning sickness is gone.  I'm headed off for a glucose tolerance test already so I'm having to watch what I'm eating.  Otherwise all is good.  I think the waiting for my due date is going to be the hardest.  Our family can't wait to meet the baby.  Turns out my partner spent over an hour looking around a baby shop on his own yesterday on his way home from work.  He came home with a heap of toys (apparently the shop had run out of prams and he went in with the intention of buying me one).

    Re: I've been slack!!!

The doctor has already said that if I follow the Diabetes Australia diet I should keep the diabetes under control and lose lots of weight and the baby will be fine. The extra tiredness is getting to me at the moment but that should start to improve soon- it's just so easy to be lazy with food.

    How are you going, Nat?

You've had so much going on with new job, uni, and baby.  Are you going ok with sorting out what's what?  There's lots of good mums on this forum and we've all gone through the worries and know what it's like.

I'm due in May with baby #3 - it's a boy according to the ultrasound so that'll make 3 of them!  I'm sooo outnumbered, even the dog is male!  Your other half sounds like he's excited, can I suggest an item for your baby shopping list that's always neglected, it's one for the dads - a mini set of screwdriversfor the household (both philips head and flat), preferably with magnetic tips.  For all those battery operated toys with tincy-wincy screws to get at while child chucks pink fit waiting for fave toy to be back in action.

Let us know how you're getting on?

    Re: How are you going?

Lucky for me my partner's an electrician so there's an endless supply of screwdrivers and batteries in the shed.  He spotted Elmo and Cookie Monster in the shop before Xmas and had to buy them- only they're 2 feet high and baby won't be able to play with them for a couple of years.  Pop got the vintage highchair and Tonka Truck out of the roof over the holidays so he can start to refurb them for the baby.  Bad luck if I'm having a girl.

I've got my Nerual Translucency scan tomorrow.  It's a bit too soon to find out what the baby is.  We've agreed to wait and see what arrives on the day.  The hard part's going to be agreeing on a name.  There's a couple we've had to rule out  completely already so the poor child doesn't get teased.

    Re: How are you going?

I'm now 24 weeks & I've lost 5kg. The doctors are happy all's going according to plan but baby might come 2 weeks early because I'm high risk.  I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes & high blood pressure but the doctor assures me post-baby I'll be a lot skinnier than I was pre-baby.

I'm all settled into the new house & the new job and uni's going well.  If all goes according to plan. First semester exams will be over before baby comes.  It's making a big difference working 10 minutes from home (although the peak hour traffic can make the drive much longer).

Bring on 25 July- I just want baby out!

    Re: How are you going?

Hi, sounds like its going quite well!  I had high blood pressure in my first pregnancy, it's not uncommon.  By about 34 weeks though, I had some protein in the urine test and they kept me in overnight to do 24hr urine collection and 4 hourly BP checks, twice.  I gained 30kgs with the first and 20kgs with the second, so I'm very pleased that I've only gained 10kgs this time and I've five weeks to go.  So that's great that your weight has reduced.
