    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Saturday - walked baby in pram for 40mins

Sunday - we all went for a ride along the Dandenong Creek trail from Bayswater to Wantirna Rd, which was great going for the 5yo with training wheels and a bubby with a helmet perpetually over his eyes!  Really enjoyable actually, beautiful weather.

Next week - get on the scales tomorrow and see where I'm at.  Then 8 week plan to get rid of 8 kilos before back to work.  Doing running program to get up to 30min jogs by end of 8 weeks.  Looking forward to getting on with it now I'm over the virus.

Hey Lorna, that ride along Dandenong Creek sounds sensational! And such a gorgeous day for it today too.

Have you been on maternity leave?

I'm sure you'll be able to reach your running goal in no time - even I've started being able to run for 30min (check out my journal for what I achieved on Saturday!) and trust me when I tell you that I'm not fit!!

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

My maternity leave is up in 8 weeks the I go back to very full-time work.  My DH is taking 6-7 months off, so the 5yo will have a parent nearby when he begins prep, and the baby won't have to start daycare until he's 18 mths old.

I'm really confident about the running.  I was very iffy, but now that I've made up my mind and had a bit of a go at it, I can make as much or little of it as I choose.  There's no limits.

Scales was 90.3 so my weight has been stable/maintained.  I don't want to wait till next week to begin training with the TBL3 - 13 week comp. and I'm levelling myself at 8kgs in 8 weeks.  It's a bonus that it runs through for 13 weeks because I'll need something to keep aiming for while I go through the transition back to work and all the upset routines that creates.

My main aim with this challenge, like any other, is to complete it and not fold if it gets tough.

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

A beaut of a day.  I got out while Nana took 5yo to Gymnastics, and ran circles (literally) around the baby at the local footy field.  5 x 2min jogs.  He rolled about on a blanket and grabbed grass.  Great day to be outside.

42mins out. in zone 10mins.  avg 104 bpm.  max HR 140. cals 199.

Food: sultana flakes, litemilk, kiwifruit, cupasoup.  2 wmeal bread, 2 red.fat cheese, salad.  hommus, grossini, carrot celery, orange, pear.  pasta, sauce, mince.  Cals 1500 exactly.

LOL running circles around the baby sounds like fun!! We had a similar day yesterday with my mothers' group in the park, and my 1-year old and another 10-mth old eating bark while the older kids ran riot and we chatted. Lovely!

    Man I love babies.....

Hey, Lorna - you're doing so well! How do you feel about going back to work  - are you looking forward to it, or a little hesitant? It's great your hubby can "swap " and be Mr Mum for a while - good on both of you - and won't that make him appreciate what you've been doing all this time!!!Grin1 [grin1] Alison

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Hi Emma, they are gorgeous at this age (almost 10 months) really have to watch him for putting stuff in his mouth, everything gets the taste test - sticks, dry leafs - and he 'swims' for a crawling style - like freestyle, and has a thing for electrical cords, and exploring....'swims' up the hallway!

Hi Alison, the real feelings are that I don't want to go back to work but have to, or else pay back the 6 weeks maternity leave I got and stay for six months, which I've signed a contract to do.  That's the conditions.  After that, I'll see...there's a lot to consider, perhaps look for a good family-friendly job out my way, but it would have to be good...we'll see.  Part of me is looking forward to the challenge of the work again, and chin-wags with work colleagues.  It's an interesting business and something I like having a small contribution to.

Well, rumours of a huntsman in the computer room worked at keeping me out of here for a couple of days, but it's safe for now....Confused [8-)]

Tuesday: cals in: 1417, cals out: 95 (jogged in backyard 5 x 2min with 1min breaks)

    Wednesday: cals in: 1405, cals out: 170 (jogged backyard again - 3min, 4min, 3min with 1min breaks)

Thursday: cals in 2220, cals out: 232 (jogged round area - 2 x 5min with 30sec break)  All up 36min which was 19min in zone, avg 119bpm, max HR 148.  Some bad food choices (iced donut, chicken jumbo Lenards, oven chips) pumped up my cal intake.  Had 4 x 5yo's in the house this afternoon and I have no hearing left!

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Hey Lorna, it's been a great couple of days for you in terms of eating, and it's great that you're getting some jogging in too :)

I'm the opposite of you re work - I can't wait to get back into it! I really really hope I get this job! But I'm not applying for any work that's more than 3 days per week, which makes a big difference.

    Sympathy on the deafness!

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Rossy - lol neighbours probably won't notice you going mad - just finally confirmation??  I've moved past caring what judgements people are making of me - because maybe they aren't really thinking about me at all - I'm the one whose guessing what's going through their minds, and maybe they're actually thinking, good on her for doing something about her weight!

Haven't got my book with the stats with me in the computer room but Friday I did 10min slow jog with no breaks within a 50min outing.  Saturday I did a 36?min outing with another 10min slow jog without breaks.  Haven't been out today as yet...

Went to a trivia night for kinder last night and it was really good.  I got a spot prize for having a thing under my seat and got a champers and nibblies hamper.  And our table won the main prizes and they insisted I take four bottles of wine.  It was great fun, I took my mum but she had too much trouble hearing with her aids and the noise was too muffled so she missed out on a lot of the discussions, I had to keep yelling in her ear so she would get the gist of things, which was really awkward.  they raised swags of money.

All set to go with the TBL3 competition - assessment figures put into the FOH Gold area and photo sent off.

Actually put on when I weighed this morning 0.5kgs, probably due to ttom.  Not heartbroken, just one of those things.

I hope Jane returns to us soon....
