Re: Chocaholic's progress report
Ha ha - thanks Jane! I don't know what my problem is , but I just can NOT seem to get motivated, and eat well. I'm sort of at my wit's end! It's not as though I feel like I'm ok, either. I've got about 3 things in my wardrobe that fit me, and I feel so depressed evry time I look in there and see the other 3 million things that USED to fit me, but don't now! I have ordered some Wu-long (or Oolong) tea , because it's supposed to help with appetite control, and is apparently very good for your skin, and general health. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a miracle weight loss answer to all my prayers type thing, but I thought that maybe if I try to replace my snacking with drinking this, specifically, it's gotta help curb my appetite, which will naturally help the weight loss ( and the way I'm going atm, there will be a lot of tea drunk !!!) so, waiting on that to arrive - tomorrow, hopefully! It doesn't help that I can't really get to the gym, b/c of school hols. I WILL get up at 5:30 tomorrow and do pump, though!!! In which case, it's off to bed for this li'l chickadee.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzz Alison

Re: Chocaholic's progress report
No, I haven't been sleeping that well at all, actually! Didn't get up and do pump. Went away for lomg w/end with the family. Ate badly. Weighed in this am - 69kg - I think I've put on, anyway, I feel so depressed and bleh about myself. I've totally spiralled out of control with my eating, and I just can't find the motivation to reign it in.....not sure what to do. That tea arrived today I've had ane cup - and I don't mind it, which is good! Hopefully that will help a bit in distracting me from eating. I still need to work on that motivation, though. I just feel so tired atm! Oh, and our house has been delayed, and not happening as quickly as it should, which annoys me, and doesn't help!!! I actually felt a pang of guilt when I saw the runners doing the Run For The Kids on tv Sunday night...I really need to get back into that! Alison

Re: Chocaholic's progress report
Please don't put lots of weight back on! I fear sounding preachy but exercise will help you sleep better, be more energised in the day and lift your motivation. Sounds like you need an exercise change - like try a different class or try a sport?

Re: Chocaholic's progress report
Thanks guys. The exercise won't be a problem - I love that, and would never totally give it up - it's just the running I haven't been doing. Once school hols are over, I'll be back into my normal class routine - I just can't get to the gym during the hols as there's no creche (ha ha, creche for a nearly 12yo sounds hilarious!) what I mean is, I have the kids (obviously!) so I generally don't get there. Plus, I had the dental surgery just before that, so I'm a bit out of whack with the classes. I actually can't wait to get back into that. It's just the eating with me - that's what I need to conquer! Oh, and Lorna, it's too late - I HAVE put all the weight back on. That same 10kg that I keep losing and regaining. This time last year, I was 10kg lighter. What I now have to do is lose that, and stop the yo-yoing, which I know is so bad for me.....off to have a cup of Wu-long tea now ! Alison

Re: Chocaholic's progress report
Ah yes, I can relate to having kids at home stuffing up the routine, I'm in that mode right now. Though it's nice to not have to chase kids around to get ready for school in the morning. Well, stick with damage control for now. I'm trying to eat what's GOOD for me, not what I FEEL like eating, for the most part (which is salty)!

Re: Chocaholic's progress report
Lorna, I think you are doing amazingly well - you've hardly put on any weight during your pregnancy! Intersting you're craving salty food. I craved sweet food (nothing unusual for me!) with the boys - in particular musk Lifesavers with #2, and I craved salty things like hot chips and spring rolls with my daughter! Jane, I was going to put at the end of yesterday's post....oh, and can I have some chees with my whine, too, please? Alison

Well, I don't know WHAT my problem is, but I just cannot shake this " .....yawn...yeah, I'll just eat this muffin....and that block of chocolate....and those bikkies, and, and, and......." type of feeling. Went to the gym and did weights & speed intervals on t'mill Monday, did a cycle class Tue, went to gym & did weights and X trainer Wed, did cycle this morning, will do pump tomorrow, so exercise is back to normal - although I'm even feeling a little less enthusiastic about that too. But this eating thing has got me REALLY worried. I take a multi vitamin, green tea and spirulina, oh and Chromium, which is supposed to curb sugar cravings (ummm...I don't think it's working on me!!!!) evry day. I can get through the mornungs, but come 3:30, I just cave in to anything and everything. I just can't seem to muster any willpower to just say to myself "NO! SNAP OUT OF IT!!!!!" It's not like I'm happy with how I look, or feel, either. Hardly any of my clothes fit, and I'm not that far off the heaviest weight I've ever been. I feel quite depressed, and yet I can't seem to get out of this rut. If anyone has any suggestions, fire away - maybe I need a good kick uo the (ever enlarging) a$$ ?! Who knows......We're goimg to Palm Cove for 5 days next week, and I was hoping to have got my act together, and be feeling and looking slim and healthy - now I'm just gonna look like a beached whale. And we're going on a family holiday to Noosa in a month, so I really need to get my eating under control well before we go there!!!!! Sorry to rant on, but I needed to! Alison

I know where you are here, im the master procrastinator , and believe me...i keep teaching myself this.... thinking about going for a run is harder than running itself the other day i read somewhere, that its your uniform sets your mood...wearing work clothes sets you for work, going out clothes in a going out mood, the trackies and comfy top turn you to sloth... so next time you change uniform go put on your healthy clothes you'll be itching to go guaranteed...

The last holiday Andy and I had was to Palm Cove (in 1997) eek! It's absolutely fabulous up there and we'd love to go again. Have a great time up there! If you can try to look at the food as hurting you, perhaps that would make it a little less appealing. Rather than thinking this'll taste nice, try looking for food that says to you, I'm good fuel and will make you happier. You don't need those other bits, and they're for someone else in the house, no doubt. Maybe have some time without the redlight foods in the house, can't eat it if it's not there! Good luck

Umm..............today?........... A chocolate Easter egg (it was organic!!??!!) at about 12:15 then, to make things worse , I had a fudge brownie from Mrs Fields at Chadstone at about 2:45. Ok, bad day, and now that I've actually typed it , I feel guilty (which I bl**dy well should!) I SOOOO need to vent. We are currently building a house, with a well known company, "PD", who supposedly pride themselves on excellence in customer service - what utter tripe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They stalled us by 6 weeks, then the slab was also delayed, we've had 2 customer (lack of) service girls , and now we've just stumbled on the fact that we are on to our second site supervisor (nobody bothered to let us know the first guy had left) and they're not going to even start the framing for another week and a half -AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO over their pathetic excuses and pretence of actually giving a damn. The second they take your $$, they couldn't care less. I would really like to move into this house sometime this decade . NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!!! They had better build us the best house they've ever built, or ELSE! Just sent a rather terse email explaining my frustration, and hope for better treatment from here on..... OK, I'm done now. Alison

I had a similar thing when we built. Delay after delay etc.etc so I phoned the MD of the building company who I'd had many a set to with, and asked "How do I go about issuing you with a Notice of Non Compliance?" - I was told it needed to be done through a solicitor, so I said thank you and hung up. Next day there was about 400 workmen at the place and it was finished in a week. But the real moral of the story, is that I DIDN't eat 4 tonnes of chocolate after! LOL
AK It's an old world out there and I'm glad I was part of it!
