Jane - yes let's get that train again, gave us plenty of time to do our thing. Thanks for dropping by!

Rossy - good luck with the mower!

    CG - *hugs* thanks mate!

5yo got his first filling today and then wanted them to take it out!  Like what's the point in that!  Gee, you gotta laugh at them sometimes, or you'd go crazy!

Exercise today: outing for 43mins, in zone (119-156bpm) 25mins.  Avg 123 bpm, max HR 152.  Total cals burned 295.  Jogged 15 min without break.  Cals consumed: 1593.

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Hot, dry, windy day yesterday.  Went to the bike track for my jog and did:

    35min (in zone 25min) avg 124bpm, max HR 149, cals out 245.  1 x 15min jog.  Cals in: 1422.

Very pleased with my jogging, nothing hurts, nothing to hold me back and I'm varying where I go.  It's quick and I get maximum cal burn for my time.  I can feel I'm getting a bit fitter and my quads and calves are developing.  I'm not going very fast or covering a heap of distance but I'll work up to that - main thing is I'm out and doing it and my bits aren't falling off!

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Yes, thankfully it's exercise friendly weather!

This morning, one of the kinder mums saw me running up the track yesterday!  and she says she  thought "Look at that bloody idiot, oh I know her!".  So we chatted, she's actually quite a character, and she was very encouraging. Lol!  My face was so red yesterday cos it was 36C!

Haven't got out yet, so I'm like a caged tiger.  Nana popping over shortly and dh due home soon, so feel like just bolting out the door when they pull up, but can't.  Dh wants fish n chips, grrrr, we're having the dinner I planned!  Gotta go out to a party plan thing tonight too.

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

    Hey Hey!

Friday I walked right after dinner and found I couldn't run at all, still digesting!  It was a 44min walk, in zone 7min, avg 109 bpm, max 139, cals out 240, cals in 1665.

Saturday - not feeling so hot, dh has been unwell, and I think he's passed another virus around, but I'm pretending it's not there because I'm doing the 8km tomorrow. Getting  a good nights sleep.  I still went and did 48mins, in zone 20min, avg 113 bpm, max HR 140, cals out 277, cals in 1590.  I actually ran 15mins straight, but my stats are very similar to yesterday when I only walked...

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Well, it's prime real estate, and you know, reduce, recycle, reuse!  It was the pyscho in front who overheard and suggested $35 for a tip load!  Ha, that was a weird conversation! lol

So managed the walk/jog.  Jane set a blitzing pace, and after a loo stop, it took me 15 mins jogging to catch her up on the second lap, plus I did another two 5min jogs.  My stats were: 1hr 17min, in zone 36min, avg 120 bpm, max HR 150, cals burnt 537.

And then you think, Mel does those cals at her workouts....EVERYDAY!  omg Repect

I've pulled up well and I hope Jane's hip improves - it occurred to me later that you might need an anti-inflammatory.  Good luck with it!

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Hey babe! Got the script refilled this morning, funny you should mention that! BOTH hips are sore, right inside the joints. But I am OK!

Yes, I bow before the goddess that is Mel, too..........................

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Hmmm - not good about the non-lying hips, Jane!  If not better by Friday, maybe Chiro will have an answer...

Today, rest day, so took 5yo, babe in pram and rampant dog to do leaflet drop for about an hour.  Lovely weather for it.  Dh has been home with broken bit on truck to fix and he's in a stressy mood.  Nana has taken 5yo to gymnastys, babe asleep, so I've got some guilty pleasure perusing journals this arvo....bugger all the jobs I should be doing...Devil1

    Re: Lollylorna's journal

Hi Mel, yep, feel fine.  Quads and calves feel 'used' but not sore.  I think we beat our time by about 5 minutes.  By the next one (6 weeks), I should have worked up to slow jogging for 30mins straight, which I need to do anyway to keep up with hippy, Jane.  Smile

Looking around for other fun walk/runs, not too competitive, perhaps with family as well.  I know there's an 8km near here in March that I can aim for.
