    Re: Ellipticals

Well...after nearly a year talking about it...I finally have one!

I did end up going to WW and I did actually meet Kristie(TBL) who owns the store and I tried a few machines with her and she was a good salesperson Stick out tongue..but...I ended up also going to Orbit Fitness for comparison because I like to do my research!

I bought one there because they were slightly more cost effective than WW.

I also got a better deal because it was the end of financial year sales.

So I got this one: http://www.orbitfitness.com.au/OBE4200A.html

Have done 4 min on it so far Surprise Blimey, that was a long 4 minutes!

Any tips Ray on how/where/what I should start off so I don't go and injure myself as seems to happen to me when I change exercises.

    TIA

Oh and one more thing...what is the difference between a Cross Trainer and an Elliptical? Confused

    Re: Ellipticals

Ok, so I have been on this thing a total of 3 times(for about 3 mins!)...well, it has been school holidays!!

So Ray...where do I start with this, given that I am prone to injury if I overdo things and I do have issues with my joints if I tackle things too head on as I tend to do when I get back to exercise after a break. My ageing body is wearing out. Lol Have only just recovered after lawnmowing last week.Tongue Tied

Any advice you can give will be appreciated :)

...and I have my treadmill up and runnning again too Yes

    Re: Ellipticals

    Hi Lala,

Sorry I missed your question last time. Start out by only completing 5 minutes at a time, and have it set to level 1, and see how your body adjusts. You can make more of a workout out of it by alternating between 5 minutes of Elliptical, then 5 minutes of Treadmill, and do 20-30 minutes of that.

Let me know how your heart rate goes.

    Re: Ellipticals

Thanks Ray...ok, so I have not given this a go other than the odd 3 min every now and then so today I did 5 whole minutes!!

OMG...I had to lie down and have a wee sleep afterwards! I was knackered! Mind you there are other factors affecting my energy level this week Tongue Tied

    5 min, level one,speed 2-2.5...

    Max HR 166 (94%)

    avg HR   147 (84%)

Legs felt better than what I thought they would..mostly my throat was burning and dry...what a sook! 5 minutes! Lol

Will add in the treadmill tomorrow!
