I did get out the other day, too. Been feeling topsy-turvy for a few days, but back to myself again yesterday. If I was closer to my due date, I'd swear it was a sign the baby wasn't far away. Woke up at 2.30am and couldn't drop off back to sleep, Andy was up just before 4am to get ready for a job at 5.30am in Dandenong, so I ended up getting up and chatting with him. I'm going to pay for this later on though. Mum took Lachlan to the movies and saw Horton Hears a Hoo, which they both really enjoyed. Mum says even she'd see it again. Then she came and picked up Cameron and took them BOTH to the park for almost two hours, so I got heaps of housework done.

Will get kids out to a park today before the weather gets too unfriendly, then visiting a gf & her kids after lunch. Made lovely lasagne last night with lots of grated veg in it, and Cameron wouldn't eat it at all, then came back an hour later and had one mouthful then left it again. So this morning he's falling apart to eat some cereal!

it's funny how kids won't eat some things. a couple little tricks (if you can be bothered - it does work though!) is to make a little ramekin with his lasagne in it, maybe get a dinosaur cookie cutter and put cheesy-parsley in that shape so that when it cooks... dino on top! also means he gets his own special meal ;) there's a great kid-friendly recipe in 4 ingredients. it's basically mashed sweet potato, sauce cheese lasagna sheet/ repeat... you can then move up to grating in one vegie or a couple. hope you are doing ok - this weather is icky but i figure a nice excuse to snuggle with the kids on the lounge & watch a movie, or play some board games in front of the heater... xxx

That sounds so nice, the yam lasagne, Kaz. I will give that a go. And he's off sandwiches as well, so I'll try the cutter idea with those and see if he partakes. I'm making tuna pasta for lunch today which is my failsafe with him. Sometimes he gobbles something down and then refuses the next three times I make it, then will eat it again out of the blue. He really epitomises the fickle toddler eater. Not that I'm concerned, more frustrated, because he's a good weight for his height. Staying near the house, not venturing to park. Cameron's had a few bolts around the backyard. Lachlans made him a simple train track and he's got Thomas on the video. Lachlans now on a train simulator that Andy downloaded some time ago and making his own track with stations, houses, topography, people - it's quite full-on. He's pretty clever. Jane - I'm booked in May 12th - so six weeks to go. Can we come to your place for a cuppa? I'm best for a Thurs morning...but flexible.

we had no power heating or phones for about 10 hours. luckily my gf has an open fire, so we candled & rugged up around there & had dinner and wine & conversations and laughter and it was brilliant. about 11.30pm we came home (my hubby didn't make it til about 9ish thanks to all the trains being cancelled) and half an hour after arriving home the power came back on... magic spell sort of felt broken. it was nice to just be, in the candle light, with my little community. yep i'm up for a coffee. would love to see you all again! xx

Alison, you should come too, if you can break free. Andy's retracted the name and no longer likes it, so back to Ringo again. Kaz, yes it does break the magic when the power comes back on! I was at a friends house though it was off for about an hour or so. She raced off to pick up her mum who was stranded along the railways. So glad I'm not on public transport anymore - it's fantastically green and generally cheaper - but gee it leaves you in the lurch sometimes! Jane, pick a date or two, in the next two weeks say, and lets see what everyone's availability is for Cafe de Jane's House!

Lots of aches this evening (back and feet), too much housework or maybe it was the awkward snooze for 45mins on the couch before school pick-up! I think I have less fat rolls on my back (sorry if you were eating) or perhaps they've been pulled forward into my belly... a back lift! So maybe I have only gained baby weight. 5 weeks to go and the average pregnancy gain is 10-14kgs, it would be nice to stay in the range this time! I've gotta say I can't wait to be in a fit enough state to get into proper exercising again and set some fitness goals and workout routines. It's kind of hanging in limbo all this time.

When we went to the zoo, after more than an hour of chasing about, I found myself getting a bit trembly in the hands, then after about another 10-15mins found I HAD to stop and eat something quick. We had sandwiches and fruit packed so ate what I needed and feeling went away. Decided it was just the activity and long time since breakfast, let it go. But I got it again this morning when I was tidying up the backyard for about 45 mins so decided to google it and found I'm probably getting a bit hypoglycemic and need to consciously think about snacking regularly. Also been having tingly fingers frequently and sounds like carpal tunnel. I've got the hospital doctor tomorrow so will check it out. I suspect my BP is starting to go up too, now that we're at the business end. So thanks guys, for reminding me that it's not long now. I'm still feeling 'up' and looking forward to packing a baby bag soon, and making sure I've got enough bottles and such, plus arranging a Medela pump at the chemists.
