    Rowing Machine

    Hi Ray,

I was looking in the posts (quickly) and saw that you put a video on rowing machines. I tried clicking on it and it says to me this is a private video. I was hoping you can help, I just want to know that when I use the machine that I am doing it properly and that I;m not doing it wrong. And also some info on it coz I have no idea about it. For example the lever on the side has 10 numbers on it, which one is easiest 10 or 1? Should I be aiming to get at least 1000 metres in 5 mins, or should it be more (or less)??

    Thanks for your help,

    Nat

    Re: Rowing Machine

I'll see if I can find that video.

Off the top of my head I think 10 is hardest. I don't really play around with that setting too much because all testing is done on 3 and 4. You can check out the ranking for various divisions and age groups at the Concept2 web site.

For a woman who is not competitively rowing, 5 minutes isn't too bad. Should it be more or less? Well less is always better! Grin1

    Re: Rowing Machine

Well thats something I do know. 10 is the most difficult, and 1 is the easiest.

    Hope this helps,

    Re: Rowing Machine

WOW well that means I did it on the hardest level! Woohoo for me LOL

Funny thing though it was already on 10 so I left it like that, coz I didn't know what was easiest or hardest!

BUT no wonder I had jelly legs after the 10 mins!! (even with the rest between ie: 5mins then rest then 5mins)

    Thanks for the info!

    Re: Rowing Machine

    Hi Nat,

Well done on making it to 10 mins. On the machines at my gym 10 is the lowest (easiest) level. Might be best to check with someone at your gym which way your machine goes.

It's an amazing workout though isn't it!!!
