Hi guys,
I think the journals are a great idea, and hope to keep one going here to hold myself accountable (to several unknown people :P) :)
I'll be sticking with the recommended 1000cals per session workout... got myself a heart rate monitor (which my boyfriend refers to as "The Strap On"... sigh) that keeps track of calories burned as well (I'm pretty happy with it actually, it keeps a session log and a total summary... its great seeing 3046cals racked up on it from last week!!).
But ... Here it is - Monday/Wednesday/Friday = weights (usually "bodypump" which I have done so many times I know it by heart... or some other weight session I can create for myself), Tuesday & Thursday is cardio (interval training I like to call it - run as hard as I can for as long as I can, then powerwalk, then run.. lol)
I had last Friday and Monday off (Easter long weekend, my gym isn't even open and I wasn't at home for my weights).
So far its been 2 (Thursday & today) cardio sessions getting to the total 1000cals (I've had other sessions and exercised a few days a week before the acquisition of the HRM) - and I feel good... except it takes me 2 & a half hours.
The mini goal is; to get to the 1000cals closer to an hour, so I'll be working on that for a while (so my fitness should improve a lot). I envision I'll just report in to say how I'm going at cutting down the time.
The main goal is obviously to drop the weight & maintain... but I want to run in the City to Surf, and I want to be fit enough to say "Hey - I'm going to enter that fun run" or rowing thing, or enter that rock climbing gym etc etc. I actually want to be athletic and physically active a lot so don't see a problem maintaining exercise channels.
I need to stick to this - I need to shake this last 17kgs, its bugging the heck out of me!!!
(btw, a lot of people freak out when I talk about how much I can exercise, but I really saw results when I spent hours at the gym, and I love the feeling of accomplishment when I feel so dead that I can't move (and ultimately have the best nights sleep) - and really, I don't actually have anything else to do. I live alone, and if I didn't work out, I'd probably just log into work... so I know its no unrealistic :))
