    Re: Just keep going...

What a week!  It just all whooshes along!

I was diagnosed with PND last week and started meds which has helped me immediately, didn't need to wait 4-6 weeks for them to kick in.  GP has created a care plan and I'll be visiting the pyschologist next week.  Feel much brighter and a lot less stressed about the nothings.

Weighed in last night and had gained 0.7kgs, I did feel a bit fluidy.  But I'm not too fussed and ready to reset myself to prioritising weight loss again after the distractions of new meds and Andy's BP and business downswings.

Oh wow, Lorna, you have ahd a bit going on, too, haven't you? I am glad to hear you have found relief with teh meds, it must be a big help for you. As for Andy, I have heard that it does not take much of a drop in wieght to make a difference, so let's hope?

    Take Care, OK?

    Re: Just keep going...

Feeling alright, nice to have a break from feeling constantly on the edge.  I walked the dog round the block last night and didn't manage to exercise today.  Cam is doing his swimming class tomorrow which requires me to get in with him, and hopefully I'll get to walk to school in the afternoon.  Eating too many bikkies today (just one of those kind of days, you know?) but otherwise okay.

    Re: Just keep going...

Hi Nat, Liam's a sensation, really placid, easy-going, easy to make smile, very accommodating.  My only complaint is that he's got me up 2-3 sometimes 4 times a night.  We've started solids and he's very keen for the spoon.  He's got the two bottom teeth just broken through the gums and the top two are getting into position.  He sleeps better on the warmer nights, despite me using the heater and various pj's/bags on the cold nights.  I sense we stick with it and he'll be sleeping through by summer.

    How's your babe going?

    Re: Just keep going...

Lots of new mums don't like me for some reason when I tell them Leigh is sleeping through the night- usually between 11 & 13 hours.  He is also a very happy little man- lots of smiles.  No teeth yet but I think they're on the way.  We've started going to the pool and he loves having a splash.  You'd never guess he was 4 weeks early or had surgery at 5 weeks- he's gained so much weight and is in the 97th percentile.  We're starting to wear size 0 clothes already.

    Re: Just keep going...

I'd never begrudge a mums good night sleep, Nat!  My second boy was and still is, a great sleeper.  I'm trying a few things this week and then resorting to controlled crying (baby, not me, I hope!) on the weekend nights.  No trouble getting him to go to sleep, but he's not resettling himself through the night.

I weighed the same this week, ho-hum.  It's the weekends where I go astray...lets give it another go this week, can't give in.

    Re: Just keep going...

WW have abolished most of the meetings in our area and made a central meeting place in Croydon with various meeting times, so I went this morning at 9.30 but didn't stay for the meeting because I had the two young ones with me.  Down 0.6kgs.

I wonder why they did that Lorna? I always thought they were basically well attended? Never mind, it is great for you to see a loss! Well done!

    Re: Just keep going...

I've opted to cancel WW for now, for lots of niggly reasons.  So I'll just weigh at home which is more favourable than their scales!

    Re: Just keep going...

I weighed this morning at home and was 95.8kgs which is what I've been weighing in the mornings, it's just at WW it's the end of the day and dressed to the shoes and their scales, all of which had me a couple of kilos heavier.  I'm at pre-Liam weight now and looking forward to dropping a bit more.

    Re: Just keep going...

Life's been totally about the kids.

Lachlan's finishing grade 1 with an A in reading and a good term with no playground 'incidents'.

Cam's EI reduces next year to two hours a fortnight, which is more than a lot of families get, but I feel he needs as much as we can do for him.  Been looking into ABA but the cost is prohibitive and doing it myself, well, I just don't think I can wear that many hats.  The govt has released funding into autism but the red tape to get to it is daunting, and doesn't come near covering the cost of ABA.

Liam's a happy, healthy baby doing all the things that baby's do.  We need to do controlled comforting for him over the Xmas break so we can get me a night's sleep.

Eating and exercise -wise, without sounding like I'm making excuses, just hasn't been at the top of priority list.  I'm on my feet from dawn to dusk and beyond, I think that's been controlling my weight, but I'm not being discerning about what I eat.  Neighbour's wife gave us some chocolates from her workplace which has been fun and tasty.

It takes commitment that I don't have at the moment, to lose weight.  So I'll motor along and take care of the family and myself, until I can take up more challenges.
