Re: Serious stuff on Sunday
Thanks Cheekyren, I will persist. This is exactly why I have not considered the WLS path. For me the food intake is not the issue, it is the emotions behind it. I would end up substituting some other evil thing! LOL! Just got back from the gym, kids did Kidzfit, I did 15 minutes on the treadmill, half walking half running, plus 15 on the treadclimber and 10 on the elliptical, Avge HR was 144, pleased with that!

at the Psychologist......... We focused on self belief. Looking back, I have never had anyone tell
me I can do anything, until fairly recently. This is why I think it is
ridiculous for people who say they believe I can do things, yet *I*
don't! I was not neglected or anything, just the cards life dealt meant
I just kind of grew up relying on me, not affirmations from others.
OK, so todays tips on a practical level, included rearranging my fridge
and pantry stuff, so that when I open the door I dont go onto auto
pilot, but rather the fact things are in a different place will help me
to stop, and think. I do so much without thinking, so this COULD be a
big help. Something worth trying, anyway!
Each night I have to reflect on the day and think of any and ALL steps
I took towards my health, even as small as taking an apple so I don't
buy crap. Even if the good thing is tied up in a not so good one, I
have to acknowledge it, and then praise myself. (For example, I bought
2 pizza rolls to eat for lunch, and after one i realised I was full,
and stopping at one would be a good idea! So I DID.) The praise bit is
going to be SO HARD. I will feel stupid and silly and daft, but he
ASSURES me it will be a huge step in realising I am changing, and the
more I get conscious of the good changes I make, the easier they (and
the praise) will get. I promised
him...................................... I made time this morning before I went, for exercise, too! woohoo! 15 minutes on Trev at 6kph, then 3 sets of 12 reps each, of :alternate bicep curls, weighted squats, lunges, tricep extensions, front raises, upright rows. Then another 15 minutes, at 6.5kph. Lovely..........................

Thanks Ray! And if I can get my uncoordination and inability to follow instruction under control it will get even better! LOL! It was really nice to be outside, too, and that view from the sandpit is good, although I did not exactly get to just sit and gaze........................ It was nice to sweat, and I will be interested to see how I pull up tomorrow, so far not stiff at all, not even the knees with the jogging!

BEAUTIFUL Melbourne day! Ray, If I tell you I am not even a bit sore, does that mean I did not do enough? LOL! I had an appt with the massage guy, he does not like the fact I jog, apparently I have a small case of shin splints (and OUCH when he treated those!), BUT he found a couple of spots on my muscle (forgot the name) that runs down the front of my thigh and around under the knee, and has released those, which has made a decent difference! I had no idea before I started seeing him, how much impact muscles DO have on your body, which possibly sounds stupid, but I just never THOUGHT about it. I am going to post a question about stretching for you in a different thread, so get excited! I am hoping to make time to get out for a half hour walk, and then will come back for some free weights after that.

Hmmmmm....it must be a REAL mild case of shin splints if you didn't know about it before you got there! I know you worked hard enough so maybe we just got the balance right. I saw your question on stretching but am just heading out for a session so will get back to it later. Ray

Sun is shining, kids are grumpy. GREAT STUFF!!!!! I went to visit my Nan this monring, she is VERY happy now where she is, I am beyond thrilled! Zac has asked for a BBQ for dinner, so I grabbed some salad stuff, we have some half decent steak here, so that makes for a healthy dinner, and a happy Zacman! I am hoping to get out for a walk later, not a massive one, just something to comabt the grumpy kids that does not involve food!

Howdy all!
I walked the kids up to school today, as we had a Parents Group
meeting. Normally I drive, which is a bit sad as it is close, but up a
MOTHER of a hill! But I decided to not be such a girl, and suck it up,
so walked. ad it was fine! LOL!
Have come home, vaccumed and mopped the whole house and am sitting here
now waiting for the floors to dry! Trying to decide what to do as far
as exercise goes, too. DH needs the car for a dr appt this afternoon,
which rules out gym/kidzfit, so I am planning on a big walk around the
streets, so might do it before lunch, or else later and end up at the
school, then walk the kids home, hmmmmm. Decisions..................
Either way it will be about an hours walk, with LOTS of hills, as
usually I would do 15 minutes each treadmill, climber and elliptical at
the gym!
Looking forward to lunch, tuna nicoise salad (no anchovies or capers
though!) using left over salad and potato from the BBQ last night!
Dinner is Chicken and veg pies, homemade with a small amount of pastry,
just enough to "feel" like we had it!
Hope everyone is kicking ass!
