biryani is a spiced up rice with leftover vegies and meat usually.  Really nice! You should try it!

     LOL LW!  Yep very human!

Last night, I did some more boxing and jarred the knuckle again.  I've been advised to where wraps underneath my 16 oz. gloves.  Today it's very bruised, so I'm not doing much and didn't do much at hockey training last night.

Today, I'm not running, but tomorrow I will.  IT's windy here and I'm a bit fatigued still.  I'll get a massage instead at lunch and relax.

Brekky: Oats with sultanas, pears and apples

Lunch: Cheeseburger soup (recipe now on site)

Dinner: Pasta? unsure as I'm heading to see Die Hard 4.0 tonight after work, maybe a vegie burger from grill'd

    Snack: banana

Drinks: skinny latte, homemade coffee, water, coke zero?

    Exercise: Zip - rest day

    Saturday Exercise: Run, band workout
    Sunday Exercise: Hockey game

Hey there, sexy legs! Do you have any wraps? I got some on Ebay, and they ARE excellent! Ray posted a link for me on wrapping techniques, and funnily enough the wraps I bought had a print out of the same thing!

    Food as fuel - 27/08/07

So new perspective for me today, I'm going to try and have this as my overall motto.

    "Food as Fuel"

I'm sick of eating crap just for the sake of it.  I'm not sure what really happened for me to start eating it all.  Nothing in particular I suppose apart from just having something repetitively to put in my mouth.

I haven't been enjoying it, that's for sure...weird but anyway, it's gotta get out the system and the only way that is going to happen is if I put a new perspective on everything.

    Today's efforts will be:

Brekky:  oats, 1/2 cup milk, protein

Lunch:  cream of broccoli soup with 2 slices light rye toast (recipe on site)

Dinner: Vegetarian lasagne (home made but no recipe yet) with salad

    Snacks: banana pudding

Drinks: water, water and water, home made coffee and tea

Exercise: 7.1 km run around the yarra, walk the dog

Hi Mel - I've been meaning to ask - do you eat your exercise cals?  If for example, you're on 1500 cals and you do 250 cals of exercise, does that mean you can eat 1750 cals for the day?  Or do you set at 1500 cals and the exercise is just a bonus?

    Re: 29/08/07

Dont eat into the calories at all...those are a bonus!  If I feel a bit more hungry that day, I might eat something more, but never the whole amount of what I've burned, maybe another 100-200 calories more...

    Spring is here !

    Hello there Missy Mel !

Just popped by to say hi and I had a quick sticky beak at your website - looking good my dear - the photos of your dishes are great.

I am interested to know Mel, what caused you or influenced you to become vegetarian? And on your Ginger bread recipe you refer to "spelt?' flour - what is this and why is it used?

    Thanks Petal,

    Love Ruby

    Re: Spring is here !

    Heya Ruby!

I turned vegetarian after having my gall bladder out.  I couldn't digest meat really well so I decided to go off it (I wasn't eating much anyway).

Spelt flour is another flour you could use, it's a little heavy and available from health shops.  I think it's a little healthier as well! :D

I've been a little quiet as its busy here at work and I've injured myself again.

I've got an ultrasound on my knuckle tomorrow after a boxing injury 4-6 weeks ago.  Certain movements over the last week or so have reinjured the knuckle which caused me to get it checked out.  The doctor advised I've smashed the tendon and I need to ensure I don't need surgery or work out what the next step is because I certainly have chronic tendonitis.

I'm therefore not allowed to do ANY exercise that involves movement of the hand....no weights, I'm guessing no hockey on the field and not sure what else.  I;m extremely frustrated but trying to do stuff that is non-hand exercises running etc...but still want to do strength work....

Anyway, I think I better get back to it.... ciao!
