    Re: WW update

Gee weighin day rolls around quickly.  Am about to head off to my usual Tues night.  I'm not expecting a miracle but a small loss would be good.

I've had a really awful week.  Had to go to a funeral on Friday.  Funnily enough I didn't go and eat like I normally would have done.  I went shopping instead and spent money.  This is a big change from the old me.

I guess the scales will tell all.

    Re: WW update

Well the good news is as bad as the last week was, I still lost .4kg.  1 more kg to go and I'll have my first 10kg loss.  Back to where I was 3 weeks ago.

    Hi Nat

You're doing well. So proud of you. Keep chugging away at it. 0.4kg is nearly 1/2 kg. You'll get there. I think I'll rejoin ww again within the next month. It helps having the official wkly weigh in. And you meet some lovely people who know what you go through.

    Talk soon.

    Re: WW update

Thanks for the support.  I didn't get to weigh in this week- Tuesday was mum's birthday.  Although weighin is on the way to mum's house, I got the magic phone call at 4pm- "When are you going to get here- hurry up!"  So I had to skip it.  But next week I'll be there.

There's the whole debate about back fees at WW at the moment.  They will only let you skip 2 meetings a year.  Now my meeting times are 5:30pm which go for an hour, work trades until 6pm and it's a 45 min drive to weighin from work.  Some weeks it's physically impossible to get there and they still expect us to pay for meetings.  So all the work staff who go may end up boycotting or finding a different meeting to go to- as much as we all like this one.

    Re: WW update

Hi Nat! That is the main reason I won't do WW, I have a husband with very unpredictable hours, and I KNOW I would skip too many meetings, and their inflexibility sucks!!!! Good luck next weigh in!

Yep we're feeling the $$ signs in the leader's eyes at the moment.  I guess something will sort itself out.  Maybe we need to start a workplace meeting or something.

    Re: WW update

Sounds like WW may just shoot themselves in the foot with that tactic Nat! I hope you can find somewhere else to go...or just start your own at work. See if work would support it,find someone to help co-ordinate and buy some scales. You could also run monthly seminars and invite guest speakers. You local council may support it?  Work should be happy because healthier more energetic employees would be happier?

Keep it up and I look forward to hearing when you have reached that 10kg goal!!

    Re: WW update

I know work would support the move- the problem is finding an approved WW leader to take it on.  To be a WW leader you have to have lost a minimum of 5kg and be in the healthy weight range and have kept it off for a period of time.  I'm finding it hard to get to my meetings with so many demands on my time.  I might just have to go to a different meeting- maybe Sat mornings or something.  Otherwise it might be time to try something different- WW online or maybe I'll try a dietician for a couple of months then go it solo.

I almost forgot- I found out last week the reason why one one of my friends who introduced me to this forum has gone quiet- baby #4 is on the way.  How exciting!

Re: Starting over from square one

    Hi Nat,

why dont you all run the meetings yourself.. I don't know how ww meetings go or how the weigh in goes.. but you could either go BL style where you weigh in infront of everyone or choose one person to record the weights in a private room.. or even pair up so only your partner knows your weight!! The money that you would usually pay for meetings could be stored in a kitty and when the money accumulates you could choose different things to spend it on eg:

gym work outs for you all

    healthy meals out

    motivational speakers to visit

at least you are getting something for your money!

damn i need to get a good job where my work supports weight loss lol

You are doing really well though Nat and well done on almost breaking the 10kilo barrier!

Re: Starting over from square one

Well the bad news is I've gained 1.7kg in two weeks.

I have come to the conclusion that I need to go back to the gym- I'm thinking the money I spend on WW would be better served on that at the moment.

My scales and the WW ones finally match my weight. I now have the full set of WW books and I know the plan.  I'm thinking I'll do maybe another month? of WW and join the gym in the meantime and go for a couple appointments with a dietician & a trainer and see how I go.

Wonder if Ray knows any good trianers in Brisbane?

Re: Starting over from square one

That's what I was meaning Nat..just do it at work yourselves without WW. Are there other ppl at work who would be interested. Just a weigh in each week even..and perhaps a lunchtime walk/exercise?

Bugger re the gain, but just move onto a new week!

    Good luck!

Re: Starting over from square one

Time to start a new week.  My mum reminded me I've had a lot on the last couple of weeks.  I was a little unwell last week (had a nasty allergic reaction to a local anasthetic).  Funny thing is all my clothes feel a little bigger.

Also wanted to say Go Queensland!

Re: Starting over from square one

Have you seen the WW calculators?? my SIL has one and its really quite good.. you put in the kj and the saturated fat and it gives you the points for it.. it looks kind of cool!

Never mind about the weight gain just focus on yourself and getting fit!!

    better luck this week
