    Hi Nat,

Don't worry about the 1.7kg too much, accept it and move on. As you say you've had a couple of busy weeks and you've been unwell. If you've cut down on your exercise as a response this might explain it (could also be partially due to fluid retention). The good news is your clothes feel bigger. Maybe start measuring yourself as well as weighing in. In recent weeks when I've put weight on I've still lost cms (particularly around my waist) which is important to me in terms of my health (and the new clothes I can fit into!!!). Sometimes measuring can be a great motivator when your kgs aren't moving as fast as you'd like.

    LadyWolf:

Have you seen the WW calculators?? my SIL has one and its really quite good.. you put in the kj and the saturated fat and it gives you the points for it.. it looks kind of cool!

Yep I do have a points calculator.  It's great although my problem is remembering to take it with me.

I had a little crackup at work this arvo and instead of going for a chocolate bar or something fried and fatty I went and got a coke zero instead.  Which is a good start coz I used to go buy bad stuff.

    July update

I just realised how long it's been since I posted.  Not much to report- haven't been to WW for the past 3 weeks because it hasn't fitted in with work.  According to the tape measure I haven't gained anything.  I haven't been on the scales to check.

I am going to sign up at the gym this week- I know I've been talking about it just haven't done it yet.  This week's a good time as I get my bonus this week and can afford to pay $ without feeling a strain on the budget.

I took my mum & Grandma shopping on the Gold Coast this morning.  Quickly remembered why that's a bad idea.  40 mins later I was ready to go home.  On a better note I did spot Courtney from TBL2- he looks really fantastic.  I saw him on his way to work and it took me a moment to work out just who it was.

    Re: July update

Good to hear you have not gained, that is great news! The gym should be really good, also!

Courtney is funny, he has a myspace page and towards the end of the last season he was posting the funniest blogs, until he was told he had to stop! LOL!

    Re: July update

I haven't joined the gym yet...mostly because I've bought work home every night this week.  However it's on my "To Do" list for tomorrow while the car's in being serviced.  I drop the car off at 8- plan is to wander down to the gym after I drop the car off.

They weighed us to wrap up the comp at work.  Turns out I've gained nearly all I lost however the tape measure disagrees.

The girl I signed up to WW with wants me to go back with her.  Last time I went to WW the woman who weighs us was rude to me- hence another reason not to go back or to change meetings.

I've been really good with the food and I think I'll go to the gym and see how I fare.  Other option's getting a PT in- there's a couple of people at work who seem keen to share the costs of a group trainer a couple of times a week.

One of my workmates has a degree in exercise physiology- might have to see him for a recommendation.

Hey Nat, have you thought about WW online? It is $89.95 for 12 weeks and provides online meal trackers, Core or Points plan and lots of useful info, recipes...etc

    Re: July update

Funny you should mention that- I've just found a voucher amongst my ww stuff for a free 2 week trial of eTools.  I'm going to give it a go and see what I think- if I like it it's only $40 for 12 weeks.  I don't think going back to meetings is going to give me the support I need.  A friend has had a loan of my ww stuff and she and her husband are going to do the program with me.

I saw Marty from TBL2 last night- I forgot he doesn't live too far away from me- won't mention where cos it was at a fairly daggy location on a Friday night.  He looks fantastic- all the old ladies were blushing.  I didn't realise he is sooo tall.

    Re: July update

Well today I'd had enough of making promises to myself...like I'm going back to WW and I'm going back to the gym.

I have cleaned out the fridge and I did go shopping.  I'm going to try ww at home and see how it goes.  I feel I can do it without handing $18 over every week to get on someone else's scales.  The meeting "program" is the same every 12 weeks.  Turns out I went for longer than that and the program did begin to repeat.  So I have my scales and a new notebook.  There are some new tunes on the MP3 player so I can go walking at lunchtime.  KMart had a DVD sale and I happened to have a gift voucher so I bought a 3rd exercise dvd.

I just did a count- 187 days to go until Melbourne so I have that long to do something about my weight.  I still want the new smaller sizes.

    Re: July update

Ok well I started climbing back onto the wagon today.  The scales were dusted off.  Sad to say I've gained 6kg of the 9kg that I lost.  However yesterday I had a big cookup and cleanout of my fridge and the exercise dvds are out.

I'm thinking I might buy a bike instead of joining a gym?  Some of my workmates have just joined Fitness first so I said I'd have a look at it and maybe sign up as well..there's one about 5 mins walk from my house.  They've just started belly dancing classes.

I have a new journal too- so everything's getting written down.  I've also decided to glue in a new picture of myself every 4 weeks.

    Re: July update

Well I've been back on the ww plan for 3 days so far and I've managed to stick with the program.  Also...last night I signed up at Fitness First.  I did a deal with 2 of my workmates who are already members- the deal is we're going to train together once a week.

I also did my first RPM class this morning- all 800 calories worth!  They told me noone ever finishes their first rpm class but I stuck it out.

    August update

Ok I know I've been slack with the posts- busy at work & going to the gym plus there's another new distraction.

The FF thing is going well.  I've had 2 personal training sessions and have a third one book for Tuesday.  The best part is I've worked up to a slow run on the treadmill.  My trainer's only a really young guy but he seems to know his stuff so I think I'll be getting a few more sessions with him.

The other good news is my work is looking to indroduce the Weight Watchers at Work program.  There's enough interest for them to be holding info sessions so hopefully soon we'll have meetings at work.

    Re: August update

That's very cool that WW sessions mightbe at your workplace - create a very anti-cheating atmosphere - hard to pack it in!  And the gym work sounds enjoyable too!
