Re: I met Fi from TBL!

Ooohh Missmel, you need to be very very careful if you have a back injury.  You want to be very very careful not to aggrevate it - I wouldn't be doing any weights or running until you get it properly looked at.  I might be over reaacting a bit but I have heard so many stories of back injuries and I know quite a few health professionals who have told me horrific stories of people with back injuries.  I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just really concerned for you.  Hope it feels better soon!

Re: I met Fi from TBL!

aw mel you take it easy.

chiro may be able to help. if not, seek some physio as that should help too. poor love - just take it easy. don't do weights for a couple of days and give your back a chance to recover - you don't want to accidentally create a bigger injury.

i'd even perhaps lay off running for a couple of days - some walking may be the best benefit for the short term... jarring movements could aggravate it.

    rest up,

    luv kaz x

missmel, take it easy for a while, a bad back is the last thing you need.

as the others have said get yourself the best care possible.

Re: I met Fi from TBL!

    thanks for caring guys!

well it seems the weights put the disc back in or something.  Heard a bit of a crack in there and now the only soreness I have is bruising...there doesn't seem to be anything protruding from my back! :D

I'll be possibly heading to boxing today then hockey tonight.  However, I'll be taking it very easy and ensure I do nothing stupid!

    weight loss this week

Well I was more than a little worried heading on the scales this week.  My diet has been a little whack.  I've eaten more than I normally would and my exercise has had to be scaled down with my back.  My masseuse has referred me to an Osteo, so hopefully I'll get in next week and get started on some treatment.  I really am worried, I don't want to hear the worst - that I have to stop the exercising.

I did my weights session yesterday, which went well apart from my Polar watch locking up...I have no idea how many calories I burnt apart from basing it on my previous sessions!  I'm doing a lighter session today - I bought Jillian's workout sessions and will try and do the cardio boxing dvd.  Tomorrow I have another hockey match.

Anyway my weight loss this week was 1.3kgs with a 0.8% body fat loss.  Bringing my total body fat loss to 8.9%.  My ticker shows my overall weight loss!

    Re: weight loss this week

mel that is FABULOUS - what a lovely loss!

good idea to see the osteo - just remember to take it easy. i don't think anyone would recommend you stop exercising because that would be bad for your overall health. perhaps explain to them what you are doing, and what you are planning to achieve, and ask them how to work around the the sore back. it may even mean doing something like pilates to strengthen the abdominal muscles & back muscles so the disc doesn't play up in future. i'm sure they'll have a good plan for you!

Enjoy the hockey tomorrow! And have a great weekend!

Hey mel, 1.3 kg loss is excellent, keep up the great work.

I hope the osteo can help with your back, nothing worse then wanting to do something and not being able to do it courtesy of pain.

    hugs angel

    Great loss Mel.Big Smile [:D]

How did the hockey match go?   I spent the day in Sunbury watching my son play soccer.  I'm not a very good spectator, I just wanted to get out there with them!

    Re: weight loss this week

Thanks guys!  Hopefully I can get in pretty quickly with the Osteo and fixed up.

Harri, the game went well!  We drew 2-2,  the two goals weren't really my fault and I did some really great saves as well.  My agility really has improved!  I know what you mean about being a spectator, I'm terrible watching from the sideline of most sports!  I just want to get out there as well! :D

jillian michael's cardio boxing dvd sux!

so today my gym session got disrupted by talking to my boxing instructor.  Anyway I decided I would head home and do my cardio.  Being too lazy to go to the gym, I thought, "Why not try those dvds you bought of Jillian's!?"

So I chucked it on and thought this was great!  A nice big workout, lifting my heart rate - cool!  Until it lasted 20 minutes.  They were all puffed and I'm standing sweating, pissed off and unfulfilled by the 'Biggest Winner.' I understand these might be for people just starting, but really you need to give them something to work to....AND there's only one class per DVD - very disappointed!

Now my calories burned today is my lowest since I've started....Angry [:@]
