Re: jillian michael's cardio boxing dvd sux!

yeah that's the only workout that is on there, apparently there is other content such as nutrition.  I bought the pack and have to say I'm a little disappointed with the workout.  I have calmed down though from last night and yes, I'll be working my butt off today at the gym and hockey tonight to make up for yesterday! new workout!

Thanks Ray for the new workout!  Started today and boy do I feel better!

My new weights session is now:

    Weights:
    • Lunges 15 x 3 each leg
    • Bench Press DB 20 x 3 10 kgs
    • Pull Down 20 x 3 47.5 kgs
    • Shoulder Press 15 x 3 20 kgs
    • Chin Up 12 x 3 30.1kgs (my weight subtracted by the weights I put on)
    • Dip Machine 12 x 3 30.1kgs
    • Lower Back 20 x 3 30kgs setting 1
    • Lunges 15 x 3 each leg
    • Squats 20 x 3 10 second hold on last one
    Cardio:
    X-trainer
    • 5 mins warm-up L7
    • 2 mins L12 then 2 mins L8 repeating until 30 mins

The only problem was I was exhausted, yet burnt less calories...figure that out!  897 calories burnt today and 4.85km done on the x-trainer.

    Re: new workout!

Wow what a workout - it makes me tired just looking at it.  I don't know how you can stay motivated on a cardio machine though - that would drive me insane, putting in all this work and not actually moving anywhere!  It takes great discipline and focus to do that - both of which I know you have lots of!

And your pictures are amazing - you look fantastic!

    my back is fixed! yeah!

Thanks guys for the encouragement!  It's hard work keeping going but I can see that new me which I want to strive for!

Last night I went to the Osteo and she clicked my back back in.  One click, that's all it took!  She's now gonna work on my sciatica and a neck problem I have.  These won't be quick fixes but at least it will only get better from here!  :D

Today, I did my boxing class and had fun!  One of the girls from work joined me and we were laughing the whole time...she has about the same co-ordination as me which is good!  It was a bit of a lesser workout, so tomorrow I'm gonna go full on at the gym in Melton...hopefully they have the equipment I need on my new workout!

Re: my back is fixed! yeah!

Im glad to hear that your back is feeling much better i hurt mine back in 1996 and its never been the same at one point i was in hospital for 2months with the worse right sided sciaticia i couldnt even start to tell you what that felt like!!! But im glad your on the mend and working towards feeling better!!!

Sounds to me like you had a great time at boxing and it was good to read that whilst you were doing exercise you were laughing together that makes it seem so much easier im sure and not feeling like its a chore!!!

Have a great day tomorrow and i hope the gym has the equipment that suits you so you can work on that new work out program of yours!!!

Happy Easter and take care your doing a great job!!!

Re: my back is fixed! yeah!

Thanks Jude!  I don't envy what you had to go through with your sciatica, I'm glad mine is not that bad!  Happy Easter to you as well! :D

Headed to the gym today and did my weights workout, I had to change the lower back to a leg press 45 degrees.  My knee is aching a little from it, I reckon I'll ice it for a little to see if that helps...But there was no real back exercises there, I was really disappointed.  At least they were open.  I also did half an hour on the bike rather than the x-trainer....I don't like their x-trainers and would rather do something I enjoy more.  Burnt just over 1000 calories today!

Hopefully I can motivate myself to head to the gym tomorrow for my run for 30 minutes and 30 minutes bike ride.

Sunday I'll be taking off, but possibly will go for a walk down the beach!  I'm heading down to Queenscliff for the day!

BTW Happy Easter to everyone!  Hope you have a fun and safe break!

    put weight on this week

As I predicted I put on weight this week.  It was a combination of a few things, such as reducing the exercise I did, stomach problems, being around that time and being casual about my eating...however I didn't expect to put on 1.8kgs...unbelievable and now I'm back to monitoring my food intake!

Today I also pushed it at the gym and ran 5kms before cycling for 30 mins.  All up just over an hour at the gym!  I'm really happy with my running progress, I haven't been running but I've improved...hopefully my weight goes down next week.  I am extremely disappointed!

Re: put weight on this week

mel dont be too hard on yourself, we all have off weeks for various reasons,  you  expected to gain weight, i know not as much as you have, but still dont be hard on yourself.

It is very hard to keep motivated if you let yourself give in to depression about the weight gain. and remember even though you may have gained weight, your body shape may have changed.

congratulations on the 5k run, that is excellent, keep up the great gym work, and you will lose your gain in no time.

    hugs angel

Re: put weight on this week

thanks angel, I guess I'm just annoyed at the amount.  If I had really slacked off or could attribute to something like a huge piece of chocolate cake, I'd maybe not be sooo annoyed.  It just makes me think how hard is it going to be once I lose all my weight and whether I need to be so strict as what I'm doing now to keep it off?  I'm enjoying to an extent what I'm doing but, I do want to be able to relax a little and not worry about putting a bit of weight on...

Re: put weight on this week

Hey there missmel..wouldnt the weight that you put on be muscle that you have been building up with your gym exercise session because i remember years ago when i was really focused at my walking and swimming when i got on the scales they went up and i was feeling cranky and defeated till i was told that muscle weighs heavier than fat!!! Another tip measure that waist of yours because if you dont get the results on the scales you could be loosing inches which is still fantastic...you can always tell in your clothes when your body is starting to change as well....keep up the great work your doing so well with all your exercise you run rings around me!!! Take care of yourself!!!

Re: put weight on this week

    hi Jude,
unfortunately i have the body fat scales by body fat went up a little!  Oh well.

Was back on plan today and did my weights!  I spent an hour and a half at the gym and only burnt 888 calories...mixed the cardio up today and did 20 minutes on the bike, 10 mins on the treadmill, 10 mins on the x-trainer and 5 mins on the rower.  Felt alright afterwards and really couldn't believe I only burnt 800 or so calories!

Tomorrow I'll be doing some running before heading off to hockey tomorrow night!  Big workout tomorrow!
