    Re: today's workout

Thanks guys, you guys don't know how much you are helping me to keep going.  You're pushing me further!

Just got on the scales and I've dropped 1.7kgs this week, with a fat % drop of 1.1%.  My water retain has increased to 55.1%, this would have something to do with the fact that I'm drinking just over 3 litres of water most days now.  I'm trying to flush all the toxins out now! Smile [:)]

Looking forward to hearing what everyone else does this weekend and thanks again for coming in and keeping me inspired to keep going with the new me.

PS.  1.3 kg till I'm 100kg, so maybe next week?  Unless I go really bad with my dinner party tonight...although I will be at the gym in 20 minutes and then have a hockey game today.

    Take care all!

    Re: today's workout

    Hey guys,
Thanks everyone for stopping in and all the praise and support.  I'm really apprecating it.

Jude, the scales were from Aldi - one of their weekly specials.  They have one on this week which also calculates your muscle percentage for $40 I think.  I'm gonna head and get one of those, so I know how much muscle I also have.  I really recommend them!

Yesterday I did the following session at the gym, then went for a run with a friend and my mum.  Overall burnt 655 calories. I also played a hockey match and umpired which involved a little bit of running.

    Warm up:
    • Rower 5 mins
    Weights:
    • Lunges 15 x 3 each leg
    • Bench Press DB 20 x 3 10 kgs
    • Lat Pull Down 20 x 3 40 pds
    • Shoulder Press 15 x 3 14 kgs
    • Chin Up 15 x 3 38 kgs (my weight subtracted by the weights I put on)
    • Tricep Dips 15 x 3
    • Leg Press 45 degrees 20 x 3 50kgs
    • Situps 60 front, 20 each side
    Cardio:
    • Running and sprints 30 mins or so.
    • Hockey game with stretches

    Stretching
    15 minutes

The dinner party last night was ok.  However, why do people force sweets down me?  I feel like they are trying to sabotage my hard work.  So...I was forced to eat this trifle full of cream, alcohol and sugar.  I hate being pressured into doing these things.  Before anyone says I have a choice, the last time I said no, I got hassled big time and it's just not worth the trouble.  I'm really not keen on any sweets now apart from low fat stuff, like yoghurt or these protein puddings of sylvester stallone.

applied to do a personal training course

Ok, I can't believe I did it now, but I've just applied to do a personal training course.  I'll be doing my Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness with Fitnation.  My boxing instructor went through them and they seem pretty good.  After a chat with the staff there and my instructor, I forked out the money to start it! :D

Re: applied to do a personal training course

thanks mate!  hey, I'm unfit and overweight, yet still doing it...I'm sure you can't be worse than me!  In the end, I think it will help me improve myself - I can be my test case! :D

went tonight to the gym and did the following:

    Cardio:
    • Bike 30 mins, 14.3km
Burnt 388 calories, 40% fat.  Pretty happy with that seeing I was wondering at the 5 minute mark whether I should keep going!

I also helped my mum out and got her doing weights and cardio.  I'm really happy with how my mum is progressing as well.  She seems to be toning up and getting fitter...and she's not even doing three times a week!

Re: applied to do a personal training course

I also meant to write that I think my mental attitude has changed.  I'm so proud of myself.  Today I bumped into someone that teased me at high school.  Before, I would've gone back to eating and back to "comfortable, fat mel."  However, I stood my ground and was the 'Mature Mel!"  I kept working, ignoring him and being indifferent about the situation!

<Big pat on the back to me>

So...just letting all of you know, that anything is possible.  And I'm on the biggest high at the moment!

Re: applied to do a personal training course

Did boxing today burnt only 345 calories and 50% fat.    I have hockey tonight, so I'll be right to burn off some more in the running and in the workout I'm apparently going to receive.

My calories at the moment are around 883 calories...so I have heaps to go today...not sure why it's so much less..

    well I'm exhausted!

...very exhausted!  Last night did 5 laps at training and some goalie work...I couldn't really do much sprinting because my sciatica decided to play up...does the cold make it worse?

Anyway, I stuck under my calories or near enough to it anway...

Just been to the gym and did the following:

    Warm up:
    • None
    Weights:
    • Lunges 15 x 3 each leg
    • Bench Press DB 20 x 3 10 kgs
    • Pull Down 20 x 3 52.5kgs (2) - 50 (1) kgs
    • Shoulder Press 15 x 3 17.5 kgs
    • Chin Up 15 x 3 46.3 kgs (2) - 41.3  kgs (1) (my weight subtracted by the weights I put on)
    • Tricep Dips 15 x 3 my body weight
    • Back 20 x 3 35kgs
    • Situps 80 front, 20 each side
    • no time for squats! :(
    Cardio:
    • X-trainer 30 mins 4977 strides, 5.19 kms
    Stretching
    15 minutes

So burnt 631 calories, 35% fat with today's session.  Tommorrow's weigh in should be interesting....hopefully I've lost a little bit on the strict 1200 calorie diet. Although tonight, I'm going out and having pasta for tea....I've kept my calories to 724 today so far to cater for tonight...hopefully I don't put on weight tomorrow from eating too many carbs! :D
