It never ceases to amaze me how hard people can be on themselves. The fact is, we get used to hearing about all these people that lose half of their body-weight that it makes our few kilo loss seem insignificant.

But I think if you could really understand how much fat is in 5kg, you would then realise how much healthier you would be losing that much.

So today I went to the supermarket and bought 10 * 500g tubs of margerine so you can see how much it really is.

 

Now imagine losing all that (or even more) off your body!

I was also wondering what you plan on doing with that margarine?

Last time i did my shopping I grabbed a 5kg bag of potatos and i was thinking gee these are heavy.  Then I thought hey ive lost more weight than this.

Hmmmmmm, looks disgusting doesnt it, I have lost 8kgs so far so add another 3 to that and that is what I have got rid of.  ewwwwwwww

Wendy - 8 kgs fantastic but that picture is 5 kgs so you have lost that plus more.   You go girl

Hi Allie, thanks for that, yes I did sa in my post if another 3 was added to that 5 then that would be my weight loss.  I thinkyou misread my post or I understood what I wrote and no one else will *lol*

I put it where it belongs. In the bin!

But before I did I took a photo of what it looks like in a bundle. I even put a Mars Bar next to it to give you an idea of size.

I've got to tell you, 5kg of fat lost off the hips or tummy is huge!

Have you guys watched the show "You are what you eat?" with the nutritionalist Gillian?  I love that show....  anyway when she shows people how much fat they are eating in the form of pig fat or how much sugar by bringing it in a wheel barrow, its always such a shock!  I think its hard to put a physical image on how much a kilo of anything is!

Thanks Ray for showing us!  I think now all my weight loss will be compared to tubs of margarine!

It honestly amazes me when I speak to some one and they say "I only lost 1kg".

Only!!!!!!!!!!

If it's 1kg of fat, then you've just made a big difference to your health!
