I do have a certificate 4 in horticulture.

 

Roses are easy 5 canes in a vase shape remove 2 thirds to an outwards facing bud.

You won't have to commute! Once you come to WA you'll never leave. It's so far away from everywhere(and just quietly,we like it like that! ) People come to WA and are never heard of again!

I have seen roses pruned with a hedge trimmer.

 

Having visited Perth 3 times I wound it very challenging to drive around.

 

Kununurra seemed good but a bit small and isolated but at least there is plenty of water.

 

From what I saw south of Perth is too cold

 

But do you have to play the banjo and squeal like a pig before you are accepted as a local?

That is great Don! Oh, we have pruned roses with a lawn mower before, got the BEST crop next time they flowered, too. Our current garden would possibly scare you. And NOT in a good kind of way!

I will suggest that many gardening and lifestyle show are about seeling products rather than giving practical advice.

 

While there are people who keep their gardens to a very high standard and enjoy gardening there are many people who wish to do other things with their life.

 

How much enjoyment you get from gardening is a very personal thing.

 

It can be quite surprising how labour intensive a garden can be.

 

Top golf courses can employ in the order of 36 grounds people so each hole has the equivalent of 2 people working full time looking after it.

 

These people have all the correct equipment and training.

 

At the elite level a golf green can be mowed more than once a day.

 

The bowling green (an area about 30x40 meters) ant the sport’s club where I play petanque has a green keeping bill in the order of $10,000 per year to maintain.

Swimming / water walking again this morning as an exercise took my pulse several times it was between 110 and 136 for the hour and 20 min.

 

My pulse sitting in a chair is 64 at the moment.

 

I seem to be recovering better as I exercise more.

Swimming again today forgot to weigh yesterday.

 

Went to a funeral yesterday fitted into clothes I haven’t worn for a long time (I don’t own much black) and they were almost too big.

 

The pants fitted ok first thing but by lunch time I needed a belt.

 

Seem to be getting all sorts of hints that I am getting smaller and fitter but the scales seem slow to move.

 

I suppose persistence counts.

Well it is winter in Adelaide lots of wind and rain.

 

Got home from shopping to find the roof had some tiles that had blown off.

 

It was a bit of an adventure replacing the ties in the storm.

 

Went swimming on Saturday for about an hour and 20 minutes and the pool seemed cold.

 

Weighed with clothes on today it was just too cold.

 

Seems the weight has stabilised at the present time.
