    An evening at the gym.

I got involved in a trial gym membership and had my first session last night.

Makes me wonder if all you need to run a gym is enough money to purchase a franchise.

Generally smashed up my knee and back on an exercise bike and made to feel like a whining wimp.

Didn’t sleep very well until I took an endone about 3 AM.

At least it is a free trial. Big Smile

    bye bye gym.

Had another gym session Monday the trainer/owner/butcher seemed unconcerned that I hadn’t been able to sleep since my last exercise bike effort and put us back on the exercise bike.

Seems rocking on the seat has made my back a bit niggly if I keep smashing myself up at this rate I will be shopping for a wheel chair by the end of the month.

I have decided I need an exercise regime that will allow me have a live that is not ruled by my rotten knee and access to prescription painkillers.

I suppose not having more than 2 hours sleep at a time since staring with this gym may make me a bit tired and emotional.

Had a slight gain in weight this week.

    Re: bye bye gym.

Not good Don! what sort of bike was it? The recumbants were not too bad for me in the past, prior to screwing up my coccyx! I hated uprights though. I am sorry you were made to feel whiney, I suspect the trainer is not so good at ensuring return clientelle? LOL! Maybe stick to the pool and walking?

Bugger on the gain, I hope you figure out what went wrong and this week is a great one!

    Re: bye bye gym.

Feeling sore and sorry for oneself probably is not good for the comfort/boredom eating.

It was an upright bike compared to the other trainer I have had he was an ignorant peacock who seem more interested in strutting and showing off rather than making a sale.

If his business is thriving I have no idea.

I have another gym to try once my knee settles.

    Dophins and ships graveyard

    Went kayaking on the weekend.

Saw some dolphins generally was a pleasant after noon

    Saw some shipwrecks also.

    Seemed good exercise.

I forgot to weigh this morning. But the band has been making me vomit a bit this week.

Some would argue that I have not got my eating right and I still have to learn to eat with the thing.

    Seeing the band doctor tomorrow.

Don, it does not surprise me that it takes a bit to get used to eating with the band in place, makes sense. All you can do is learn from each experience, and eventually you will get there, surely? Do you see anyone other than the actual band doctor and the dietician? The team near here have a counsellor too, that you have to see.

    Re: Dophins and ships graveyard

    I have seen a dietician.

I a big think part of the issue is that I tend to swallow larger amounts and there is little warning from no fullness and uncomfortable.

    band doctor

Just back from the band doctor he added another 0.5 ml.

There has been no great weight loss in the last 6 weeks.

He suggested that snacks need to be cut out.

He also made an interesting point that if you don’t make a conscious decision to become obese that making a decision to become slim is unlikely to come to much.

    Re: band doctor

Initially it seems the extra 0.5 ml has made quite a difference.

I seem to be eating noticeably less more because I don’t want it not that I can’t eat it.

    114.7 Kg

    Weighed this morning after breakfast.

A modest loss but nothing spectacular.

    Re: 114.7 Kg again

I suppose in total I have lost about 40 Kg since the surgery I have only lost less than 3 kg but I have eaten what I liked.

    No loss this week.

    Re: 114.7 Kg again

Doing the diet and VLCD thing I have lost a total of about 40 kg in the last 3 years or so but as soon as I even thought of food I would put the weight back on.

Since the operation I have been very casual with minding my food (except that some thinks I just can’t eat any more) and I have lost about 2-3 kg.

Previously if I had just drifted along like this I would have gained up to 15 kg
