    Re: THURSDAY 29/11/07

hehehe you know ... at the bottom of the box after all the actual bix have gone and there are all those crumbs just waiting to be thrown out.  I have a problem with wasting money so those equal basically one bix I reckon.  I crunch my weetbix up anyway before I add the milk, yum.

    Thanks Jane, enjoy yours too

LOL, and there I was, thinking you had some sort of exciting addition you used to your weetbix! I do the same, I have always crunched them!

I really want to go tomorrow though because its my work Christmas party tomorrow night and that means I need to be prepared and if I can burn a few extra cals in the morning then again on Sunday I should make it through pretty safely.

Saturday 1 December - Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas Month

Hehehehe  Thanks Rossy for asking me that question which I must admit I couldn't answer because I didn't walk this morning.  But, after reading your post I felt I needed to be able to respond positively so I got up and went.  Just got back from 1 hour walk 7.5 kms.  Unreal!!!!!  Feel hot, sweaty and thoroughly alive... blood pumping, skin prickling yeah

    Thanks

I'm not too concerned about tonight.  Should be fun.

Take care and have a great day.

    Jo :-)

    Saturday 1st December

    Food:

Breakfast: 2 x Porridge cooked with dried fruit (from my nuts, fruit and seeds mix) with skim milk

Oh my god …. Yum and it worked much better than honey in because it didn’t mix in.

    Snack:       nothing

Lunch:      2 x Steak Sandwich with salad and bbq sauce (beef blade steak pieces)

    Snack:       Apple

Dinner:       Turkey, Roast Potato (med), small seafood filo parcel, Baked Pumpkin, Medley green veg

                       in white sauce, Coleslaw

                       Campagne with Strawberry

    Snack:       ½ slice cheesecake

    Drinks:     Water - 3 x 500ml, 1 x 1.25

       Diet Coke – 3 x 375ml

       O … and the champers

I took myself and Caitlyn for a haircut this morning and she was very well behaved for 2 ½ and as a result it looks fantastic this time.  Not at all crooked.

As I mentioned in my last post, I got the guilts from Rossy’s question and went for a really good walk.  About 7.5km in 1 hour.  I was able to include 5 x 30 second runs in it too.  Well ‘trying to’ run’s anyway, do they have a special name for those??

Out for my work Christmas Party Sat. night which was great.  I’ve been on Maternity Leave since May so it was great to catch up with everyone again.  I ate quite a plateful but what was on it was fairly healthy.  I avoided the skin on roast chicken and the many pasta salads etc.  Anyway, I’m not feeling to bad about the whole thing because I did the walk earlier in the day.  I might not have had a weight loss day but I at least had a good damage control day.

    Sunday 2nd December

    Food:

Breakfast: Cereal with milk (not sure what kind we were at the in-laws)

    Snack:       Sleep

Lunch:       Spinach Gnocchi with Tomato Sauce (leftovers)

    Snack:       Nothing

Dinner:       Pumpkin Soup with a dollop of Extra Light Philly

                       1 slice bread (no marg)

    Snack:       Small bowl of yoghurt

    Drinks:     Water - 4 x 500ml,

       Diet Coke – 3 x 375ml

No exercise today, my knees have been quite sore from the walk (or perhaps the running) yesterday.  What a wooss.  Anyway, I’m happy that in my first week I did walk 3 days and did some weight resistance work.  Keep it up Jo!!!

I’ve got my weigh-in tomorrow night so it will be interesting to see if I’ve lost weight.  I hope so after everything I’ve done this week, but if I’ve gained it will be because of muscle development I think anyway.   I haven’t had any takeaway (other than Subway) this week so that’s a pretty good breakthrough on one of my major bad habits.

    Need to drink more water!!!!!

    Monday 3rd December

    Food:

Breakfast: 2 weetbix with skim milk and honey

Snack:       10 sakata biscuits and some fruit pieces at playgroup

Lunch:       Beef and Salad Lavash wrap with mayo

    Snack:       Nothing

Dinner:       TOWN Club Christmas Family Night – Chicken, small spoon pasta salad, garden salad,

Sweet potato/Potato bake (small spoon), slice of ham, slice of bread stick with marg

Snack:       Apple Crumble with low fat custard (small serving), fruit pieces

    Drinks:     Water - 2 x 500ml,

       Diet Coke – 3 x 375ml

No exercise today.  Need to pull my socks up or before I know it I will be the end of the week and I’ll have missed out.

Had my weigh-in tonight and I was the runner up for the week with 1.6kg loss.  It was a really good night because Lochie and the kids were there and I received quite a bit of recognition.  There was

    Runner-Up for the night

    1kg + loss

    General Member with a loss

Queen for the Month – biggest loser for November

    Winner of my weight division

I reached my Aim I had set for myself for November of 2 kgs

I had full attendance for the month

I was lighter at the end of the month

So I came home with quite a haul of buttons for my sash and a bag of goodies for being R-Up and I get 4 weeks free for being monthly queen.

I’m just writing all this down for later reference for myself.  I forget all the different things the buttons are for and what different things I can achieve if I just keep at it.

    Re: Monday 3rd December

    Hi Jo,

Don't just "write all this down for later reference for yourself" .....YOU CELEBRATE IT GIRL!!!!!  LET IT BE KNOWN THAT JO ACHIEVED HER GOAL FOR THE MONTH AND ACHIEVED "RUNNER-UP FOR THE NIGHT" (etc)....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  I've just spent a little while now reading all your journal entries.  My favourite is the one where you said you went for a 7.5 km walk and was sweaty and hot etc, but felt great.  I know you can be sore for a few days after walking this distance but that feeling straight after is amazing isn't it!!!!  You are inspiring me Jo, so keep at it!!!!

And don't forget, if elite athletes can celebrate "making the team" or winning a big game, then people like you and me can celebrate anything in our lives where it makes us feel like a million bucks, so never hold back celebrating and recognising your achievements in life, NO MATTER WHAT THEY ARE!!!!!!!

Keep at it, you're doing GREAT!

    Jude.

    Re: Monday 3rd December

I hate this.  I hate that when I do really well and am going strong, if I get recognition, the next day I quite often feel like crap.  It's like... when I wake up I realise the enormity of the task still ahead.  Not consiously though.  I really dont know what it is.  I woke up this morning really tired, I had probably 2 hours asleep in the chair last night and then 1 hour after I finally woke up and went back to my bed, Ethan woke me again.  It was 6am so I got up and by 6.30 I was out walking.  I knew I only had 30mins so I decided to go the more hilly route and try harder.

I did ok and that was good, but I didn't feel like it at all and I didn't feel better for having done it either, which lots of the exercise gurus and weight loss gurus swear is the case.  I've just felt blahhh all day and now I just feel "OVER IT".

I had a sleep during the day and went to Music Club with Caitlyn, and after a look online I picked up my husband and unfortunately for him because I'm over it, he's copping it.

Exercise is my big problem. I just don't enjoy it in this body, on an ongoing basis.  This is why I stay big.

I feel like I need more energy and that if I eat, I can get it.  But, when I eat it doesn't get better.  I always say to Caitlyn that the only way she can fix 'tired' is to have a sleep, but what are you supposed to do if you can't just sleep when you need it.

As I say its seems like such a rotten cycle and I hate it.

    Please help

    Re: Monday 3rd December

Keep at it Jo, your doing really well. The energy will come you just need to keep at it. Think postive and think where you want to be. Picture yourself how you want to look and imagine how you are going to feel once you get there...

Thanks Ludacris thanks for your support.  I guess that's whats good about this forum... its a place where if your feeling off you can get it out of your head in a short quick burst and then try to refocus.  I must say I'm feeling much better today, so really... Thanks

    Tuesday 4th December

    Food:

Breakfast: 2 x porridge n’ dried fruit with skim milk

Snack:       2 pieces of cake, 3 Lamingtons (the thin ones about 1/3 the size of the old ones we used to

get at Lamington drives (not that that excuses having 3)), 2 pikelets

Lunch:       Ham and Salad Lavash wrap with mayo and cottage cheese

    Snack:       An apple

Dinner:       McChicken Burger, Fillet o Fish Burger

Snack:       Watermelon, Rockmelon, Peach, Pineapple,  slices

4 x mini Cadburys chocolates bars (2 squares each)

    Drinks:     Water - 1 x 600ml, 3 x 500ml

       Diet Coke – 2 x 375ml

Well I went out for the 30 minute walk this morning so that’s something, but as I said in my other blogs I was pretty off today.

    Possible reasons:

    ·         The ‘but wait there’s more’ syndrome coming back to reality after success recognition at TOWN

    ·         3 days after drinking alcohol syndrome

    ·         Didn’t have enough quality sleep with Ethan waking up

    ·         Two nights in quick succession where I ate large portions late in the evening

    ·         Not enough Water (especially given the Breastfeeding)

    ·         Ethan being out of rhythm with feeding:

    -          growth spurt

    -          teething

    -          residual stomach pain/wind from virus last week

    -          more hungry as he is getting bigger and my body having to keep up

So basically Jo, don’t beat yourself up.  There are plenty of possible reasons why the body is in a lull.  Think thin and just keep on keeping on.  Life is a cycle and yes, rotten days come around but remember the good days come back round too.
