    Re: Thursday 20th December

I just didn't realise how many cals and how much of the stuff I want to avoid/minimise is actually in the toasties.  I used healthy bread - wholemeal with grains, and low fat cheese, and ham off the bone as opposed to highly processed ham (or so I thought).  I was shocked to see how much salt (dah) is in the ham, bread and cheese and also how much saturated fats are still in the cheese even though its a low fat one.  Anyway, as I said to Nathan earlier in the week I'm definately still learning with to cook and to make quick healthy cooking choices and I need to develop a general shopping list that has some basic 'must haves' for the pantry so I can just cook up something quickly that Caitlyn will eat too.

    Re: I had a Dream

    Hi Ray & all,

I'm definately still around and trying to build up the get up and go to move on from the Festive season.  Mum & Dad came down on Boxing Day and there are still so many leftovers in the house.  I refuse to throw them out because we are trying to save money.  But I have been trying to incorporate salads into meals most days and I've been trying to keep moving even though I've been resting my knee.  I went for my first big walk again after my fall on Wednesday, 1 hour on my "Up Hill, Down Dale" route.  Last bottle of Jewel is gone, Ham is now gone, Pork is gone, Ice Cream is nearly gone, Chocolate is gone, Biscuits are gone, Pretzels are nearly gone and M & D will be gone on Monday (boo hoo... but it will mean I can be alone in my kitchen again).  Weigh-ins at TOWN club start again Monday too and I will start writing everything I eat down again.

Ray... do you think it is better to let my knee heal thoroughly after a fall or start exercising again?  Should it be light or limited to none 'leg' exercise?  Should I see a doctor if it swelled right up again (after 3-4 wks rest) after my walk Wednesday?  It seemed much better after Friday.

    Re: I had a Dream

If it's swollen definitely stay off it. There's plenty you can do anyway.

If there's no problem with walking then that's a great start

    Hi Jo!

Yay to getting your kitchen back, but BUGGER on the knee! Those elastic braces from Chemists can REALLY help, they just give a nice support. But don't overdo it!

    Re: Sunday 6th January

yeah me.  I asked who wanted ice cream tonight and M & D and DH all wanted some and there was only enough for 3 left so I didn't have any.  I forgot I used up the yoghurt this morning so I ended up having cornflakes. hehee
