Man I felt stuffed today. Both kids were up early and Ethan, a couple of times through the night too. Not to mention that last nights quick walk round the block with the dog turned into a full blown power walk on my favourite hilly spot. Is the part of a walk you hate the most the part that will burn the most energy. I think so, because that last hill really s*@ks.
Anyway, I couldn’t get a nap through the day but when DH came home I got a couple of hours much to his disgust because his second-hand new bike was dropped off today and he just wanted to get out and play.
In hindsight I am happy with the day and felt my portion sizing was really good over the whole day. I’m trying to incorporate more protein into my days and have found it really does stop the hungry feelings. I also read that having a low GI carb option before bed the night before helps process the protein in the morning better.
As I’ve mentioned elsewhere I heard a quote on ‘You Are What You Eat’ that I liked:
‘Exercise needs to become as routine as breathing in peoples lives’
It’s an interesting thought and sound very sensible. It’s not normal to just sit and need to rest for hours at a time. Sitting doesn’t fix tired (mental exhaustion) only sleeping fixes tired. Sitting just gives the body a break, some respite it really doesn’t help the brain at all. I don’t need more energy (food) I need to process it effectively and I need to get some uninterrupted sleep and that will come when Ethan can sleep through. BRING IT ON!!!!!!!
