Thanks Don and Alison :) I know I should be more excited... I look at some of the people who have been banded and lost 13 kgs in 3 weeks and I want to be one of them!! But realistically I know it's crazy to look at other peoples' losses - cos I'm not them! So am coming around to feeling better about the loss :)
Now for a slightly longer post: Day 7 post banding and I have some discomfort which I realised last night is actually the band itself - I got out my anatomica book last night and realised the band is much more central than I thought it would be, and realised it's exactly where the discomfort is.
Last night I ate a sausage - a whole sausage! Chewed the hell out of it but had no problems whatsoever. Nonetheless decided I should stick to fluids since I'm only one week banded so for breakfast this morning I made myself an OF shake - and couldn't finish it because it's just so awful and I'm so over the taste of the OF. I just poured most of it down the sink.
Slept without a pillow supporting my wounds last night, woke up naturally at 6am just in time for my babies to call my DH to get them up, and stayed in bed while he got him and the kids ready .... the bliss :D
Haven't had any shoulder pain at all, have spent the morning tidying the house (no effort, just moving pieces of paper from one place to another!) and doing the dishes, even brought in the washing which is sitting on the couch waiting for me to fold it, and made an apple & cinnamon slice which is now in the oven.
I'm surprised and happy that I am feeling more or less like I was before, in just a week!
There is never a wrong time to do the right thing
