    Re: Back on the Horse...

    thanks boss :)
i think i've had mebbe 3 hours sleep (and now have a nice headache brewing...) but once we're there, will be groovy as. have a big list of potential things to do which i'm sure mum & dad will enjoy. we're booking a 4 hour lunch & wine cruise on the tamar valley - should be divine! and the weather looks bliss - mid 20's up to early 30's whoo hoo!!!

I love Tassie. It just has that old country feel.

Although, it has been almost 10 years since I was there last so things may have changed!

Hey gorgeous! Hope your time in Tassie is really relaxing & refreshing - you so need it after your horror week, and you deserve it - just because you're you! Enjoy! Alison

    I'm home again!!!

    hi darlings,

well i got back home last night. yes, it's 3.35 am but my house is like an oven pit from the 5th ring of hell. so i can't sleep.

mum & dad are going home this morning and we had a nice time in tassie. Stick out tongue

the place is like stepping into 1978. in a small country town in backwater australia 1978. yes very pretty. but the most boring place i've ever been to. i'm sure it's fine if you're older or have an interest in ummm old crap. but eek. if florida is the retirement home of the US, tassie has to be death's waiting room.

thankfully there were a couple of nice wineries which i managed a little tasting at. since i was designated driver, if i liked something i bought a bottle of it. ended up with 4 bottles (2 of the same josef chromy sav blanc - not usually my drop but v.v. nice)... was worried about weight of luggage & so drank a bottle of that and a bottle of the 9th island sparkling one night. oops.

picked the most delicious strawberries with mum, had them with the wine.
no channel 10 where we were staying, so haven't seen BLA for a week. hopefully someone can give me the rundown on what's happened, who's been booted out etc etc.

anyhoooo am going to try to get back to sleep. might have some more water... argh!

    Re: I'm home again!!!

    Hi Kaz,

Spoke with Adro and he's keen to catch up on Friday too. The only problem is that he won't have enough time to drive 30min each way as he's just opened 'The New Me', and I just don't know my way around Melbourne! So is there anywhere we can meet half-way or something?

I know it's your birthday so you may be somewhat committed but I'd love to catch up (Carol and Jesswill be down too!)

Anyone else interested in catching up?

    Ray

    Re: I'm home again!!!

there are people coming all through the day & night so i doubt i can meet anywhere at this stage, especially as most things will be shut, being good friday.

i am happy to send you an easy & detailed map that will make the trip a no-brainer. adro's been to a subway thingie 2 minutes from my house before, so he'll know it's not that far...

if anyone else would like to pop over to wish me birthday salutations, douse me in pressies & celebrate the beautiful gift to the world that is me, they are very welcome

    Stick out tongue

    wonderful wednesday!!

    well... i'm very pleased today!!

i went back to gym today, albeit tentatively!
i managed 3 minutes on the treadmil before my foot said NO MORE!
so then i went on the bike for 10, then the elliptical for 10 (no worries!) then the bike for another 5 and then sprinted YES SPRINTED on the elliptical for 5!!!

i'm going to aim for 30 minutes most days at the moment, of just cardio.
as my lungs are healing, i want to work on improving my cardiac fitness, but stay within a fatburn zone (makes sense, eh!)

also, from next week, i'll be going back on optifast for a period of time.
it's funny, as a vegetarian, i know i don't get enough protein. i struggle to get enough in my diet as it is.
my son said last night 11 out of 12 of the proteins we need are in meat. joy. then of course the red team's comments on having low protein last week as a contributing factor for their low losses just rang very true.

for 10 years i've been training at the gym with high intensity and duration. there's been some very frustrating periods of downtime post surgery/illness in the last 3 years that have really knocked me back, but i've still struggled on. i've worked through the psych stuff behind the weight, and the relationship i have with exercise (training 20 hours a week with no result for 3 years is not healthy, and it sure f*^ks with your head, lemme tell you)...

    anyway.

    i'm back to square one.
    i'm ok with that.
    i'm a non smoker.
i have regained control & confidence and now it's time to do the same thing with the rest of my body & life!

    so *deep breath* here goes!!

i'll be making sure i have the extra iron my body needs, and not over-doing the gym.
i've worked out another issue that will be able to be managed with the optifast - lunches. i tend to either skip it, or eat crap. only when i'm 100% on the ball do i stick to brilliant lunch. i guess it's one of the double-edged curses of working from home. DOH!

    here's to next week!

    hehehe

    xx

    Re: wonderful wednesday!!

That is great Kaz, isn;t it good to be abel to find alternatives when you have an injury? You HAVE had a crap run, I don't know about you, but sometimes I just get SO frustrated by my decrepid body! LOL!

I am really hoping to be able to come say Hello on Friday, still working it out...............

    Re: wonderful wednesday!!

thanks alison! tassie was ummmmmm yes 1978. without the good bits (the drugs, the music, the ummm drugs)...

well actually for my birthday which is tomorrow, i'm at home all day and friends are dropping in through the day and evening - just a relaxed drop in & worship & spoil me day LOL. since it's also a day off work for most of my friends, i've made it an open house kind of deal as i don't always get to see my friends as much as i'd like.

so hopefully jane is coming over, and hopefully raymondo might be dropping over, and i do hope you have a chance to too!!

there'll be drinks & nibbles (healthy & indulgent) through the day and around dinnertime i believe hubby said he'll throw some seafood on the bbq & we'll have salads & seafood. (i won't have the seafood obviously... ick)...

    yesterday i went to gym.

this morning i have physio at 8.30 and i'm planning to go to gym straight after that too.

    Re: wonderful wednesday!!

Happy Birthday for tomorrow, duckie!  It's Andy's (DH) birthday tomorrow too.  Mine was the twelfth.  Aren't we wonderful, us Marchies!  I'd love to come a meet Ray & family in person but if I put myself in Andy's shoes, I wouldn't like the other half leaving me with the kids on my birthday and heading off to socialise & well-wish someone else!  He deserves a bit of fuss made of him. Have a very good day tomorrow!
