well... i'm very pleased today!!
i went back to gym today, albeit tentatively!
i managed 3 minutes on the treadmil before my foot said NO MORE!
so then i went on the bike for 10, then the elliptical for 10 (no worries!) then the bike for another 5 and then sprinted YES SPRINTED on the elliptical for 5!!!
i'm going to aim for 30 minutes most days at the moment, of just cardio.
as my lungs are healing, i want to work on improving my cardiac fitness, but stay within a fatburn zone (makes sense, eh!)
also, from next week, i'll be going back on optifast for a period of time.
it's funny, as a vegetarian, i know i don't get enough protein. i struggle to get enough in my diet as it is.
my son said last night 11 out of 12 of the proteins we need are in meat. joy. then of course the red team's comments on having low protein last week as a contributing factor for their low losses just rang very true.
for 10 years i've been training at the gym with high intensity and duration. there's been some very frustrating periods of downtime post surgery/illness in the last 3 years that have really knocked me back, but i've still struggled on. i've worked through the psych stuff behind the weight, and the relationship i have with exercise (training 20 hours a week with no result for 3 years is not healthy, and it sure f*^ks with your head, lemme tell you)...
anyway.
i'm back to square one.
i'm ok with that.
i'm a non smoker.
i have regained control & confidence and now it's time to do the same thing with the rest of my body & life!
so *deep breath* here goes!!
i'll be making sure i have the extra iron my body needs, and not over-doing the gym.
i've worked out another issue that will be able to be managed with the optifast - lunches. i tend to either skip it, or eat crap. only when i'm 100% on the ball do i stick to brilliant lunch. i guess it's one of the double-edged curses of working from home. DOH!
here's to next week!
hehehe
xx
