    Skins!

I've just got my first pair of 'Skins' and I'm really impressed. I've been told about them in the past but never really thought I needed them but after all the training I've been doing lately I decided to get some.

For those who don't know, they are basically tights, and keep compression on the muscles. They feel great when you're running, but the real benefit is recovery. By sleeping in them you seem to reduce the muscle soreness you'd uually get.

The real impressive thing about these is that they refuse to pay elite athletes to endorse them. There slogan is something like: "We don't pay famous athletes to wear them, they pay us!"

    Re: Skins!

The lady who started the company used to come ito where I worked (in a bank) and she was really nice, too! A bit shy, but very approachable, They have really taken off! Hamish and Andy just wore them for their week as cojoined twins, for Rove......... I bet they were a bit worse for wear after a week!!!

    Re: Skins!

I was so glad to see a thread about this, as I've just decided to give them a go, having had a little hip soreness after running a lot, or a particularly hard work out. I'm also considering doing the half marathon at the Run to the 'G in June, so I thought they might be good for that. One of my friends recommended a different brand, "UnderArmour" , as they're cheaper, but the same principal - ie compression technology. They cost $79.95 in Rebel Sport (as opposed to $130 for the Skins) and I actually managed to get them online from an Australian site - FitnessXpress, for $49.95 including Express Post delivery!!!!! So, I thought I'd give those a go first - I'll let you know how they go! I got the ankle length ones. I don't know about   wearing them to bed.............but I guess you're the expert, Ray.....just seems a bit......yucky!!!!!! (that's a highly technical and sophisticated descriptive term- lol!!!  Alison

    Re: Skins!

I got my "skins" in the mail yesterday a/noon - very exciting. I'm just wondering - anyone who's worn them - are they supposed to be really really tight, or just tight, b/c mine aren't that tight - I mean, I don't fell very "compressed" in them - I'm wondering if I should have got the size smaller (although I DID go by the company's measurements) Just wondered! Oh, and I was v happy, as the price tag said $85 and I only paid $49.95 inc delivery!!!!! LOL - I love a bargain!!!! Alison

    Re: Skins!

    Hi Alison,

They should be tight-fitting like lycra. Great price too!
